March is National Asset Management Awareness Month, Throughout the month of March, businesses and organisations are urged to learn how improved asset and property management practices can contribute to the overall mission and revenue goals of their organisation.

For the whole 31 days Northern PAT-Guard will be testing and passing many assets for local businesses to assure compliance with Health & Safety recommendation. I say assure rather than ensure because the decision to PAT Test is totally on the company and its directors. So, it is in fact the PAT testers role of assuring it is done to the standard that you require, in line with your loyal approach to your team.

Yes, it is a conscientious choice for a company to adhere to this proposal and demonstrates a dedicated moral responsibility to its workforce and customers. but as many will know PAT testing is the only way that we can stay within the bounds of the law of ‘maintaining equipment used in our business, fit for purpose and that employees are safe from electrical harm’. This also includes self-employed persons.

Don’t forget March 1st is National Employee Appreciation Day. #EmployeeAppreciationDay so there’s also other great ways to show your staff you care and appreciate them. Expressing employee appreciation increases employee job satisfaction. People are motivated and thrive when they know they do a great job and this will certainly have a positive effect on the companies goals. Maybe you can give me a great review after I’ve carried out your safety checks #AppreciateYourPAT_Tester

There is no ‘must’ for PAT testing and it is NOT a legal requirement. The requirement is as follows;

The UK Health and Safety Executive along with insurance companies will expect you to perform PAT testing to ensure that you are compliant with certain regulations including:

· Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974

· The Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989

· The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations of 1998

· The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations of 1999

So, Northern PAT Guard, (Trade Association registered, an elite of PAT testers who have signed pledging to adhere to highest standards of practice when PAT testing) are now offering all businesses a massive 25% discount on prices throughout MARCH. (Please use voucher code NPG-25-March) Our standard of practice shall never waiver and you will always get the highest possible standard of service from the conscientious engineer (Usually because of OCD ha-ha) So, with NPG on your side you can now also keep costs without compromising safety and still progress to accomplish your mission.

Whether your organization owns, leases, or manufactures space shuttles, IT equipment, fleet vehicles, biological samples, or spare parts, good asset management practices not only provide value but are essential to running a successful business. The National Property Management Association (NPMA) provides free online webinars, YouTube videos, social media awareness campaigns, contests, and prizes throughout the month of March to highlight all the ways asset management professionals can support revenue goals of organizations around the world!
